A. SHED FORWARDING
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How
to apply ? CHA/Importer
has to approach the Asstt. Shed Supdt./Shed Supdt. with the documents as
mentioned in the checklist. |

Where
to apply? CHA/Importer
has to approach at the shed under whose jurisdiction the container is
lying. |
3. |
How
the application is further processed ? (i)
CHA/Importer goes to CMC clerk to obtain receipt and location of
container. (ii) CMC
clerk endorses the date of receipt of container and location of the
container on P.T. copy of Bill of Entry. (iii) CMC
clerk prepares forwarding slip and issues it to CHA. (iv) CHA
enters the Bill of Entry and container particulars in the forwarding
ledgers which are maintained at shed and presents the documents i.e.
Bill of Lading or Agent Delivery Order, Port Trust and Customs copy of
Bill of Entry and Shed Delivery Order. (v) Shed
Supdt./Asstt. Shed Supdt. checks the documents. (vi) Shed
Supdt./Asstt. Shed Supdt. puts the forwarding stamp on P.T. copy of Bill
of Entry if the documents are in order. (vii) Date of
forwarding and running sr. no. of the forwarding book is written on Bill
of Lading or Agent’s Delivery Order, Bill of Entry and Shed Delivery
Order. (viii)
Shed Supdt. personally checks the seal of all containers covered by Bill
of Entry. (ix)
Shed Supdt. signs the forwarding endorsement and forwarding slips and
handover both copies of Bill of Entry and forwarding slip to party. (x)
Party takes out the cargo from container and present it for customs
examination. |
