Mumbai Port Authority

The Sales branch mainly deals with the auction of cargo lying uncleared/unclaimed in the port premises. The details of uncleared/unclaimed cargo are merged as the uncleared cargo (u/c) list into the sales system from the Cargo Module of the Integrated Port Operation System (IPOS).

The import/export cargo lying uncleared/unclaimed in the port premises is sold under the provisions of Section 30 of the Major Port Authorities Act 2021 in terms of Section 48 of the Customs Act 1962. Under Section 48 of the Customs Act 1962, the prescribed procedure is followed for the disposal of uncleared/unclaimed cargo lying at the Mumbai Port Authority in accordance with CBIC circular No. 49/2018 and 50/2005. The stipulated terms and conditions regarding e-tender cum e-auction are approved by the competent authority and displayed on MbPA & MSTC websites.
